Energold announced signing a contract to perform a minimum of 4250 m (13 940 ft) of drilling at Aton Resource Inc.’s Abu Marawat Concession in Egypt. The drilling program is expected to commence in September and will focus on the Rodruin and Hamama projects.
‘We are pleased to announce the upcoming drilling programs at the promising Rodruin and Hamama Projects as we embark on an aggressive exploration strategy to unlock value from our Abu Marawat Concession Area,’ stated Bill Koutsouras, Aton Resources Interim CEO & Chairman of the Board.
The program will commence at the Rodruin project with 3350 m (11 000 ft) of drilling. The objective is to follow up on a successful reverse circulation program from 2018, as well as to test for the first time the high-grade veins sampled at surface on the North Ridge, which returned assays of up to 321 g/t Au. Drilling will also further test and delineate the distribution of the near-surface oxide mineralization identified on the South Ridge, which returned intercepts including 36 m (118.11 ft) at 12.47 g/t Au and 20 m (62.62 ft) at 5.36 g/t Au. The program will also follow up on the deeper sulphide mineralization which returned wide intersections including 61 m (200.13 ft) at 1.55 g/t Au, 8.9 g/t Ag and 0.86% Zn.
The drilling program at Hamama will consist of 900 m (2952.76 ft) of drilling with the goal of delineating additional oxide and transitional resources at the East and Central areas of Hamana, which have yet not been effectively tested. Channel sampling of surface trenches has indicated the potential for relatively high-grade oxide mineralization. The returned intercepts include 84 m (275.6 ft) at 1.13 g/t Au, 49.7 g/t Ag and 7.29% Zn and 42.8 m (140.42 ft) at 1.28 g/t Au, 55.5 g/t Ag and 10.37% Zn.
