Swedish manufacturer Epiroc has announced winning a significant order from Rio Tinto for mining equipment to be used in the company’s iron ore mines in the Pilbara region, Australia.
Rio Tinto has ordered several Pit Viper 271 and SmartROC D65 drill rigs. According to Epiroc, the order value exceeds SEK 130 million (approx. USD 15 495 000) and is booked for the quarter of 2021.
The Pit Viper 271 and SmartROC D65 rigs are loaded with intelligent features and built to face the toughest of conditions.
