TriStar Gold Inc. (TSXV: TSG) (OTCQX:TSGZF), an American gold exploration company, announced the start of a major exploration drilling program at the Castelo de Sonhos gold project, Brazil.
‘The drilling is now up and running and our whole team is excited about it,’ said Nick Appleyard, TriStar’s President and CEO in October 2020. ‘As of today, we have two drill rigs on site, with a third rig arriving in a couple of weeks.’
The first three to five core drill holes will be in the northern end of Esperanca South, targeting extensions of promising results from previous drilling, where the rugged terrain limits access of the larger RC rig. When the holes are complete, the core rig will aim for the CDS Deeps target of remobilized gold, following the intrusion by younger granitic rocks.
The first six RC drill holes will be targeting shallow, previously untested conglomerate horizons in the valley to the east of Esperança South. If these holes successfully intersect conglomerate-hosted gold in the valley, there could be a scope for more upside drilling in the area.
